And what a night
13 teams took part in this annual event held in memory of Simon (Wilf) Williams.
13 teams attended and feedback on event very positive. A good revenue was generated for the hall. Chips went down well, just need to fine tune cooking times…cheesy chips more popular and took longer to finish. Pat was a great help in the kitchen. A new winning team called “Tina’s Intelligent Table. Close ran event with only 8 points between the told 4 teams.
Sunday 11th Dec
Our very popular senior residents Christmas lunch was well attended again this year.
Our thanks go to Wainwrights Quarry and Cookswood Developments for supporting our annual event and helping us to make it a good one.
Without our army of helpers the day would also not have been so successful. Our very big thanks go to:
Cooks; Sue, Teresa, Jacqui, Karen, Tim, Viv & Pete. Helpers and servers; Becky, Richard, Margaret, Al & Sarah.
Wreath Making
Thursday Dec 1st. Doors opened 7.15pm.
A great evening was had by all.
Another successful year with our popular wreath making event which kickstarted the festive season. It was fun and brought a cheer to everyone as they got creative. So many talented people.
The price of £7.50 per head was held and provided wreath rings, foliage, moss, cones, ribbons and baubles.
Everyone was welcome to bring their own additional personal items and many original designs were created.
Hot Cross Buns & Crafts
Saturday March 25th
Lots of children from the village had fun decorating hand made egg shells and biscuits. Sorry mums and dads about all the chocolate.
When eating was done, colouring and bird making took place with much enthusiasm. Thanks Karen for your wonderful ideas and supervision.
Many Hot Cross Buns were wonderfully toasted in our kitchen by Jacqui and Jan. Enjoyed by many with cakes and Easter biscuits available as an alternative, thanks Pat for your tasty bites they all went down a treat.
Tea and coffee was served to help wash down the delightful treats and it was great to have so many senior residents drop by and help with the menu choices for the senior residents spring lunch on April 23rd. Dont forget to save the date.
Thanks to Teresa and Sue for manning the crafts table displaying and selling items made on Tuesday afternoons by the crafty ladies. Fund were raised to help fund the next project. Our warm hub crafty afternoon starts at 2pm – 4pm. Everyone is welcome to join us.
